Win the Holidays With This Spicy Hot Chocolate Recipe

This little treat is hot in more ways than one

Skiing, skating, and building snowmen are some of our favourite winter activities. But we love them just as much for what always comes after: a delicious cup of hot chocolate. Our chef in Tuscany, Graziella, has shared her chili hot chocolate recipe with us so you can spice up your cocoa without going into sugar shock.

What You Need (Serves 2):

♦ 1/2 cup whole milk
♦ 1/4 cup heavy cream
♦ 3 oz. dark chocolate
♦ 2 tbsp dark brown sugar
♦ Powdered chili (large pinch)
♦ 2 cinnamon sticks

Method:

In a small saucepan, warm the milk, cream and cinnamon sticks over a low heat until bubbles form around the edges, stirring frequently (about five minutes). Once the bubbles appear, remove the cinnamon sticks, then add the chocolate, sugar and large pinch of chili. Whisk vigorously until the chocolate is melted and the milk foams. Pour into mugs and serve right away.
