4 Must-Try Spas in Turks and Caicos

The most luxurious places to recharge your batteries

A spa day is always a good idea. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion – say, anniversary or birthday – or you’re finally treating yourself to some long-overdue “me time”, there’s nothing quite like having fancy bathrobes and quietude at a luxurious spa to look forward to. And in Turks and Caicos, you’re certainly not hard-pressed for options. Here’s our favorite experiences at the best spas around Turks.

Regent Palms Spa

Where to find it: Right on one of the world’s most pristine beaches, Grace Bay, in Providenciales.

Regent_Palms_SpaTreatments we love: There’s no better way to get close to the true culture of Turks than conch! The Regent Palms’ Mother of Pearl body exfoliation uses hand-crushed conch shells blended together with a selection of aromatherapy oils, chosen just for you based on your skin type, followed by a relaxing rain shower. If you’re spa-going with your other half, try the Romantic Escape package: it’s four hours of total bliss, featuring reflexology, an Oriental Essence Ceremony (with ginger infusion oil applied to the skin), and a spa lunch, all rounded out with a classic side-by-side massage.

Pro Tip: If your loved one isn’t much of a spa person, the Palms has a cheeky “Man Cave” with endless sports channels, drinks, and a classic barber shop.

Shambhala Retreat

Where to find it: On Parrot Cay, a quick 35-minute water taxi ride from Providenciales, or just steps away from your villa if you stay on the island.

TurksTreatments we love: The COMO Shambhala Retreat is committed to a holistic approach to achieving wellness, so they offer everything from full-week yoga retreats and morning Pilates classes to consultations from the resort’s resident Ayurvedic Doctor who will design the ideal treatment package for you. Don’t leave the Cay without trying the Javanese Royal Lulur Bath, a beauty ritual from central Java brought to the island. It includes an Indonesian massage, followed by an aromatic spice body scrub and a cooling yogurt lotion; the treatment is concluded by the actual bath portion, where you’ll sink into a pool of warm water filled with flowers. Next stop: a nap on the beach.

The Spa at Amanyara

Where to find it: On the northwest tip of Providenciales, bordering Northwest Point and Marine National Park reefs (totally tucked away from reality).

TC_SpasTreatments we love: Eastern zen is alive and well at Amanyara; step onto the tranquil property to see yogis in their element – you’ll feel as though you’re right in the Bali countryside. At Amanyara, we recommend going all the way with the Eastern influences. Begin your day with Yoga Saar, a private yoga instruction tailored to your body and mind. Afterwards, relax with a Shiatsu Holistic Massage for 90 minutes of pure bliss. Cap off your day in paradise with the Dream Time Aqua Therapy treatment, where you’ll feel the sensation of floating under the stars as sound therapy from Tibetan bowls harmonizes your energy flow. Restoration, found.

Gansevoort Turks and Caicos Hotel Spa

Where to find it: On the west side of Grace Bay Beach, a few miles away from popular snorkeling spot, Smiths Reef.

Gansevoort_Spa_Treatments we love: Some believe a spa day is meant for wandering around in a bathrobe and getting skin treatments. Others view it as a good opportunity to fine-tune their fitness regime with a new technique that soothes the mind and body. At the Gansevoort, you have the best of both worlds. Begin your day with the signature Core Fusion Barre class, a full-body work out that will chisel muscles you didn’t even know you had. It’s inspired by ballet, so it still has that element of gracefulness you’d expect in a spa, but you’ll feel that post-workout surge of energy right after. Then, treat yourself to a Deep Detox therapy, meant to firm and tone the skin with electric muscle stimulation.

Pro Tip: When you’re making your spa reservations, book a table at the Gansevoort’s Stelle Restaurant too. It’s one of the best places for a glamorous poolside dinner in Turks.
