A seaside Caribbean vacation never goes out of style. Yet, frequent luxury travelers know there are ways to one-up even the top resort experience. At the new Villa Londali in DR’s Punta Cana resort enclave, shared amenities are simply an added touch. The real draw here is having your own place with your own private service team. Your own pool, your own yard, and your own kitchen. And yes, you still have access to the high-end resort amenities nearby. This is what it’s all about at Villa Londali.
Lazy Outdoor Living
Life in the Dominican Republic is all about the warm sun and a cool breeze. That’s why everything seems to happen outdoors at Villa Londali. Private balconies in each room. A shaded pool table overlooking the golf course. Alfresco showers. Alfresco dining. Foosball and ping pong in open air. The home’s layout — a main house with four bedrooms and a guest house with three, the two units separated by a beautiful courtyard — promotes outdoor gathering. There are shaded living areas and there are sunny ones. Seating around the pool is the best place to catch a tan, and shaded daybeds keep you cool during an afternoon nap. A BBQ and bar setup bring all 16 guests together for a cocktail hour or off-the-grill dinner, and there’s plenty of space to entertain friends from across the resort.
New Build, Classic Look
Built in 2018, the brand new home portrays a classic Caribbean aesthetic that never goes out of style. Set in peaceful and evergreen surroundings, Villa Londali’s white facades and expansive verandas encourage relaxation at every corner — and those views from every room help too. Guests enter through a magnificent coralina promenade and a water mirror under high ceilings and an elegant chandelier that lights up the room in every sense. “Once the doors open, the main foyer, with all its governing white, empowers an ambiance of smooth lines and a sober decor making you feel as if you were inside an artwork,” describes House Administrator Maritza Cadenas. Classy pieces adorn the wall and illuminate each space, and conservative white and off-white walls, floors, and furniture are careful not to steal any attention away from the excitement of their surroundings.
Just about any type of group is accommodated at Villa Londali, but there’s no denying the family feel of this home. In the main house, there are two kids’ rooms with bunk beds, and each of those rooms attaches to one of the full-size rooms, creating two unique family suites. Children will love having their freedom (and parents will relish some quiet time!) while you can still keep an eye on them. For two young families, the main house is a perfect setting to mingle for both kids and parents, while other couples, like grandparents for example, can retreat to the guest houses for privacy at night. Villa Londali’s games collection — the second-floor pool table and the outdoor ping pong and foosball tables — is a draw for kids, not to mention those that are still kids at heart! Not into this kind of amusement? Step into the home theater to watch your favorite movie on a large screen and an incredible Sonos sound system, or stage a private viewing in one of the bedrooms, which each have the sound system as well. The villa also provides bicycles for guests, and of course a sparkling swimming pool with far-reaching golf course views.
Guests are Pampered
A vacation at Villa Londali is a private resort-style experience. The villa staff picks you up at the airport (for just a swift two and a half mile drive to Londali) and from there you have the luxury of a butler, two housekeepers, and a private chef for the duration of your stay. “Guest are impressed the moment they step out of their car as we welcome them with special touches to start their experience,” says Cadenas. Those special touches include a warm staff welcome where tropical drinks and fresh towels are handed out. With refreshments in hand, guests will know the pampering has just begun. The on-site chef delights guests daily with amazing local and international gastronomy both made and served at the villa, even if your meals look and taste like they belong in a Michelin-star restaurant. Housekeeping services keep the home in impeccable condition and create a much-welcomed dichotomy: Guests feel the comforts of being at home without any of the daily chores. And the on-staff butler spoils each and every guest with drinks in hand at the exact right moment, plus most any other request you could think up.
On top of the in-house team, guests have access to all Puntacana Resort & Club amenities. That means access to the resort’s tennis courts and 45 holes of PGA-caliber golf across its two courses. They’re both must-plays with outstanding pedigrees: Corales Golf Course just recently hosted a professional tournament, the Web.com tour’s Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, and the 27 holes at the seaside La Cana Golf Course were named the Caribbean’s top course by Golf Magazine. Take your pick? No, play all 45. Active guests also have the choice to play on one of the resort’s 11 tennis courts, choosing between three different surfaces. Consult a pro for a lesson at any level, or play a casual game. At the end of it all, relax at Spa 6 Senses, where their holistic approach to healing ensures the rejuvenation of both body and mind. Guests of Villa Londali may also visit the resort’s Aquatic Center for guided scuba diving, snorkeling, or windsurfing excursions.
